This interdisciplinary Master's Program prepares students to tackle climate change by providing a comprehensive understanding of both the natural and social sciences involved. Students can focus on physical climate science or social and economic aspects, while developing collaborative skills across disciplines. The program not only imparts theoretical knowledge but also practical experience through real-world problem-solving in interdisciplinary teams, equipping graduates for diverse career paths.
In the MSc program Climate Change and Transformation Science, students study fundamental concepts of both physical climate sciences and social transformation sciences, focusing on the climate system's dynamics and the socio-economic aspects of climate change. It emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and practical projects to tackle real-world challenges related to climate change.
The program organizes students into foundational and specialized modules over four semesters, culminating in a six-month Master Thesis. Students can choose between tracks focusing on physical climate sciences or social transformation sciences, complemented by interdisciplinary hands-on projects.
Graduates gain a comprehensive understanding of climate systems and societal dynamics, equipping them with the skills to analyze and propose solutions to climate change issues. They develop competencies in systems analysis, project management, and collaboration across disciplines.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
