Das Unterrichtsfach Darstellende Geometrie an der TU Graz vermittelt Studierenden ein tiefes Verständnis für geometrisch-mathematische Problemstellungen. Die Studierenden erlernen den Umgang mit CAD-Software und befassen sich mit relevanten Lehrplänen und didaktischen Methoden. Absolventen sind darauf vorbereitet, an verschiedenen Schularten zu unterrichten und ihre Kenntnisse in der Erwachsenenbildung anzuwenden.
Im Studium beschäftigen sich die Studierenden mit den Grundlagen der Darstellenden Geometrie, CAD-Methoden und der fachdidaktischen Vermittlung von Mathematik. Besondere Schwerpunkte liegen auf der Entwicklung geometrischen Verständnisses und der Analyse von Lernprozessen.
Der Studiengang dauert in der Regel 8 Semester und umfasst sowohl Theorie als auch praxisorientierte Anteile. Die Studierenden absolvieren Praktika und arbeiten an wissenschaftlichen Projekten, die in ihre Abschlussarbeiten einfließen.
Absolventen erwerben Kompetenzen in der Lehre für Mathematik und Geometrie und die Fähigkeit, innovative Lehrmethoden in den Unterricht zu integrieren. Zudem entwickeln sie die Fähigkeit zum selbstständigen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten.
