In this study program, you will learn from the diverse tradition of jazz and deal with contemporary styles and technologies. It follows a holistic approach that emphasizes interaction and improvisation. Students gain experience as soloists and in various ensembles, developing their own artistic personality to contribute creatively to the evolving music scene. Graduates will possess the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career as jazz composers and arrangers.
In the Bachelor's program, students study various aspects of jazz music, including composition, arrangement, performance techniques, and the history and theory of jazz. The curriculum is designed to enhance individual creativity and musical expression within the jazz idiom.
The program is structured over several semesters, combining practical music performance with theoretical courses. Students engage in ensemble playing, solo performances, and have the opportunity to undertake internships during their studies.
Graduates develop a comprehensive understanding of jazz music, exceptional performance skills, and the ability to compose and arrange music. They also gain collaboration skills through ensemble work and the capacity to critically assess and creatively respond to music.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
