Das Bachelorstudium der Alten Geschichte und Altertumskunde umfasst vor allem die griechische und römische Geschichte sowie die Quellenwissenschaften wie Epigraphik und Papyrologie. Das Studium ist eng mit Klassischer Philologie verbunden und zielt darauf ab, ein fundiertes Wissen über die Antike zu vermitteln. Absolvent*innen finden in verschiedenen Bereichen wie Wissenschaft, Unterricht und Kulturtourismus Berufschancen.
In diesem Studium werden die Themen der griechischen und römischen Geschichte behandelt sowie Quellenwissenschaften wie Epigraphik und Papyrologie. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die methodische Herangehensweise in der Geschichtswissenschaft gelegt.
Das Programm ist in eine Studieneingangs- und Orientierungsphase (STEOP) gegliedert, die Einführung in die Hauptfächer bietet. Zudem sind Module zu Pflichtbestandteilen wie Geschichtsinterpretation, Etruskologie und Alten Sprachen integriert. Eine Bachelorarbeit ist erforderlich.
Absolventen erwerben Kenntnisse in historisch-kulturwissenschaftlichem Denken, Quelleninterpretation und methodischem Arbeiten in der Geschichtswissenschaft. Außerdem werden Fähigkeiten in der Analyse von historischen Texten und Artefakten entwickelt.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
