The Master's Programme in Chemistry and Physics of Materials focuses on interdisciplinary STEM education. It encompasses the synthesis and characterization of functional materials, emphasizing innovative materials with applications in various industries. Graduates will be equipped with the skills to tackle current challenges in energy, environment, and technology, preparing them for diverse career paths in research and development.
Students study topics related to the synthesis, characterization, and application of functional materials while gaining insights into environmental and sustainability issues. The program integrates theory and practice, fostering an understanding of both material properties and their technological applicability. It encourages interdisciplinary collaboration.
The program is organized over four semesters, beginning with core modules followed by elective and specialization courses. The curriculum culminates in a Master’s thesis, allowing students to conduct independent research. Students have opportunities for practical lab work and international mobility during their studies.
Graduates will develop competencies in scientific research methodologies, material characterization techniques, and sustainable material practices. They will be capable of bridging gaps between natural sciences and engineering, leading projects in academic or industrial settings. The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
