The Master's program in Greek is designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of Greek language and literature. It includes advanced studies in grammar, literature analysis, and didactics for teaching Greek in schools. Students will engage in a comprehensive study of Greek texts and their historical significance while developing teaching methods suitable for various educational settings. A focus on thematic specializations enables students to align their studies with personal interests and career goals.
In the Greek teaching degree program, you study ancient Greek language and literature. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of Greek grammar essential for reading, understanding, and writing ancient texts, while also exploring the diversity of Greek literature and its major authors, such as Homer and Plato.
The program is structured over eight semesters for the Bachelor's degree and four semesters for the Master's degree. It includes lectures, translation courses, and thematic focuses that allow for in-depth exploration of specific interests, along with practical applications for teaching in schools.
Graduates develop strong competencies in ancient Greek language and literature, effective methods of text interpretation, and an understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of Greek literature. They are equipped with skills for teaching and engaging with literary scholarship.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
