Bachelor of Education (BEd)
The Master’s degree in Biology and Environmental Science builds on the knowledge acquired in the Bachelor’s program. It provides advanced training in scientific research and education in biology. Students will delve deeper into various biological disciplines and enhance their pedagogical skills, preparing them for a fulfilling career in secondary education with a focus on innovative teaching practices and curriculum development.
In the Biology and Environmental Studies program, students explore various biological fields such as human biology, botany, and zoology. The curriculum focuses on theoretical foundations followed by practical applications, including microscopy, scientific drawing, and fieldwork, while engaging students in teaching practices for secondary education.
The program is structured into an 8-semester Bachelor degree followed by a 4-semester Master’s degree, integrating lectures with hands-on learning experiences. Students participate in internships, where they apply their skills in real-world teaching environments.
Graduates acquire a comprehensive understanding of biological sciences and pedagogical skills necessary for effectively teaching these subjects. They develop capabilities in practical biology, scientific communication, and classroom management.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
