Bachelor of Education in Greek

The Bachelor's program in Greek focuses on the ancient Greek language and literature. Students will develop a solid understanding of Greek grammar essential for reading, understanding, and producing ancient Greek texts. The curriculum covers a wide range of preserved Greek literature and includes lectures and translation courses focusing on individual authors such as Homer, Sophocles, and Plato, as well as literary genres. Additionally, the program emphasizes the relevance of these literary texts in educational contexts.

In the Greek teaching program, students immerse themselves in ancient Greek language and literature, acquiring deep knowledge of Greek grammar necessary for reading, understanding, and composing ancient texts. The curriculum provides an overview of the rich diversity of Greek literature and engages with major authors such as Homer, Sophocles, and Plato, as well as literary genres like ancient biography.

The program spans 8 semesters for a Bachelor’s degree and 4 semesters for a Master’s degree, involving a combination of lectures and translation courses. Students are encouraged to explore thematic focuses, such as classical rhetoric and various philosophical traditions, culminating in the development of teaching content for schools.

Graduates develop competencies in ancient Greek language skills, literary analysis, and historical contextualization, enabling them to teach and interpret Greek literature effectively.
