The Master's degree programme in Game Studies and Engineering is interdisciplinary and geared towards students who are interested in the technical and narrative aspects of game development. It offers a practice-oriented environment where students can lead their own game project either in the industry or a research setting. Graduates will be well-equipped to work in the global games industry, benefitting from the programme's strong ties to both technical and humanities faculties.
Students will study topics including game engineering, game studies, and practical game production. They will explore narrative frameworks, technical production processes, and critical analysis of games.
The program is structured over four semesters, culminating in a Master's thesis. Students will also complete an internship in either industry or research, ensuring hands-on experience.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
