The Master's Degree Programme in English and American Studies equips students with advanced knowledge and skills in English linguistics, literature, and culture, as well as American literature and culture. It encourages independent study and research, allowing students to delve into interdisciplinary electives across various related fields. Graduates develop a comprehensive understanding of the Anglophone world and are prepared for various careers in academia, media, cultural management, and more.
The Master's Programme in English and American Studies encompasses English linguistics and culture, as well as English and American literature. Students engage deeply with the varieties of languages and cultures in the Anglophone world, exploring advanced themes in both literature and linguistics.
The program is structured over four semesters, culminating in a Master's thesis. Students participate in compulsory modules, electives, and a research colloquium, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and application of their studies.
Graduates develop advanced language, communication, and presentation skills, along with the ability to conduct independent scientific research. They gain critical evaluation skills, cultural awareness, and problem-solving abilities, making them adaptable to a range of professional environments.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
