The Geography Bachelor's program provides students with an understanding of physical and human geography, emphasizing spatial analysis and research methods. Students will explore environmental challenges and geographical data analysis, equipping them for careers in urban planning, environmental research, and education.
In the Bachelor’s Programme in Geography, students explore the complex interactions between nature and society, focusing on the lithosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, and anthroposphere. The curriculum includes an in-depth study of physical, human, and regional geography, equipping students with both factual knowledge and methodological skills necessary for analyzing geographical processes.
The program is structured to provide comprehensive training in common modules alongside two other bachelor’s degrees in the Faculty of Geo- and Atmospheric Sciences. This includes practical relevance through methodical subjects and culminates in a bachelor's thesis where students can independently address scientific and practical geographical issues.
Graduates develop competencies in evaluating and implementing scientific and technical-methodical developments in geography. They acquire problem-solving skills essential for analyzing geography-related issues using scientific methods effectively.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
