Master of Arts (MA)
The International Joint Master’s Programme in Cultural Sociology provides students with an international perspective on their studies. The curriculum covers sociological theories and methodologies while allowing students to explore cultural and social dynamics across different contexts. Students benefit from a unique integrated mobility semester to gain experience in multiple cultural environments and may graduate with a double degree.
Students will study complex sociological theories, practical research methods, and cultural issues affecting society. Focus is placed on critical thinking and application of knowledge to real-world scenarios.
The programme is organized over four semesters, with a mandatory mobility semester where students study at partner universities. It involves coursework and culminates in a master's thesis.
Graduates gain expertise in sociological research and knowledge of cultural systems. They develop critical thinking and interdisciplinary skills relevant to various fields.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
