The Data Science master’s program provides the skills needed to unlock the power of data to understand the world, uncover patterns, and drive decisions. In the Master Data Science program, students explore essential topics such as statistical modeling, machine learning, data engineering, and algorithmic thinking. The curriculum emphasizes practical skills in data collection, processing, analysis, and visualization, enabling students to understand complex information and uncover patterns in large datasets.
The program spans four semesters, with the first semester focused on foundational modules in Data Science and subsequent semesters offering core and extension modules to deepen knowledge in specialized areas. The final semester is dedicated to developing and writing a master's thesis, along with various electives that allow for interdisciplinary learning.
Graduates of this program will gain competencies in building and evaluating statistical and machine learning models, designing efficient data infrastructures, and effectively communicating their findings. The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
