Master of Science (MSc)
The AMRD program is a collaborative degree between the Technical University of Leoben and TU Bergakademie Freiberg, hosted in a multinational environment. Students will explore mineral resource extraction processes while gaining valuable insight into different cultures and academic perspectives. The final semester focuses on the master's thesis, equipping students for careers in the field.
Students in the Advanced Mineral Resources Development program explore critical topics such as sustainable mining practices, modern exploration methods, and resource management. The program emphasizes the intersection of natural sciences, engineering, and economics to prepare graduates for challenges in environmentally friendly mining.
The master's program is organized over four semesters, with students beginning their studies at Montanuniversität Leoben, followed by additional semesters at TU Bergakademie Freiberg and a partner university abroad. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on experiences, including lab practices and field excursions.
Graduates acquire competencies in mineral resource extraction and processing, environmental sustainability, and project management. They develop strong interdisciplinary skills that prepare them for leadership roles in the mining and resource sectors.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
