The Connected Programs in Molecular Medicine/Biotechnology offer advanced theoretical and practical knowledge that bridges the gap between molecular biosciences and biotechnological product development. This double degree program combines the strengths of the Master’s Programs in Molecular Medicine and Biotechnology, allowing students to gain insights into medical applications of biotechnology and molecular sciences. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in biomedical research, biotechnology industries, and further academic pursuits such as PhD programs.
Students in the Connected Programs in Molecular Medicine/Biotechnology study topics such as molecular biosciences, biotechnical products, and medical aspects of biotechnology. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical applications, enabling students to connect scientific findings with tangible solutions in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields.
The program is structured over six semesters, with courses divided equally between the Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI) and the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI). Students complete two independent Master’s theses during the final two semesters, integrating knowledge from both institutions.
Graduates develop competencies in the molecular understanding of medical issues and the biotechnological processes needed to create pharmaceutical or diagnostic products. They acquire skills in independent scientific research, cell culture techniques, bioreactor operation, and biotechnological process development.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
