PhD in Medical Science
The Advanced Medical Biomarker Research (AMBRA) program focuses on the development of medical biomarkers for diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disorders. It integrates translational research to facilitate the application of candidate biomarkers in clinical practice. PhD students engage in interrelated topics in medicine, healthcare, and industry. Funded for three years, students receive comprehensive training led by experienced faculty.
Students will study the principles and techniques of biomarker discovery and validation. Topics include translational medicine, clinical research methods, and key health issues affecting society.
The program is structured over three years, during which students undertake research projects, complete coursework, and write their theses. Students are encouraged to collaborate with faculty and participate in seminars and workshops.
Graduates will gain advanced competencies in biomarker research, translational medicine, and interdisciplinary collaboration. They will be prepared for careers in academia, medical research, and healthcare industries.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
