Das Bachelorstudium Kulturwissenschaften (BA KUWI) ist ein 6-semestriges künstlerisch-wissenschaftliches Studium, das von mehreren Partneruniversitäten in Linz angeboten wird. Es bietet eine umfassende Ausbildung in verschiedenen geistes- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen, die den Studierenden ermöglicht, Kultur aus multiperspektivischer Sicht zu betrachten und zu analysieren. Die Studierenden erwerben nicht nur theoretische Kenntnisse, sondern auch praktische Fähigkeiten, die in kreativen und wissenschaftlichen Kontexten anwendbar sind. Der Abschluss des Studiums eröffnet Wege in künstlerische und akademische Berufe.
This bachelor's program in Cultural Studies focuses on the interdisciplinary exploration of art and aesthetic phenomena, combining fundamental knowledge in cultural science with artistic practices. Students examine a wide range of cultural studies subjects, including cultural science, art history, philosophy, and media studies, fostering a critical understanding of cultural contexts.
The program is structured over six semesters and includes core subjects across cultural science disciplines and supplementary courses. Students can choose to specialize in a core subject for further master studies or maintain a broader overview of cultural studies. The study culminates in a bachelor’s thesis related to a core or elective topic.
Graduates develop aesthetic and critically tested methodologies and practices. They gain skills in analyzing and interpreting cultural contexts, enabling them to engage effectively in various cultural fields or further academic pursuits.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
