In the Diplomstudium Rechtswissenschaften, students study a comprehensive range of legal topics including constitutional, administrative, civil, criminal, and business law. The program also emphasizes the integration of economic principles and contemporary legal challenges, equipping graduates with necessary analytical and practical skills.
The program is divided into two study sections over eight semesters, with an introductory phase followed by a more intensive exploration of various legal disciplines. Students have the flexibility to tailor their studies according to their interests and can engage in internships or complete a thesis to demonstrate their competencies.
Graduates gain a robust understanding of legal principles and methodologies, developing competencies in analyzing complex legal issues and engaging in effective arguments. They become adept at both theoretical and practical applications of the law, preparing them for various legal professions.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
