Das Bachelorstudium Soziologie an der JKU vermittelt ein fundiertes Verständnis von gesellschaftlichen Strukturen und Prozessen. Die Studierenden lernen, aktuelle gesellschaftliche Fragestellungen wissenschaftlich zu analysieren und Lösungsmöglichkeiten zu entwickeln. Dabei werden sie in Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung geschult, um soziale Herausforderungen gezielt bewältigen zu können. Die Absolventen sind in der Lage, ihre Kenntnisse in verschiedenen Berufsfeldern anzuwenden, darunter Bildung, Politik und Wirtschaft.
In the Bachelor program of Sociology, students examine the complexities of societal structures, focusing on topics like inequality, economic impacts, and digitalization's effect on life. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical foundations and applied social research methods, enabling students to critically analyze and understand contemporary societal issues.
The program is structured over six semesters, requiring the completion of 180 ECTS credits. It includes an introductory phase, followed by a diverse selection of modules that allow students to explore different sociological theories and methodologies, as well as practical research experience through internships.
Graduates of the Sociology program develop critical analytical skills, enabling them to assess complex social dynamics and conduct empirical research. They are trained to effectively communicate their findings and offer informed solutions to social challenges, equipped with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
