Master of Arts in Social Sciences (MA)
This master's degree program focuses on social therapy in outreach work with children and families, aiming to strengthen expertise in family education and care in the context of potential child endangerment. It's developed in collaboration with Municipal Department 11 - Vienna Youth and Family Offices, benefiting from a needs-based curriculum. Graduates are equipped to recognize complex family dynamics and intervene effectively to support families and children, enhancing their well-being and safety.
Students will study various aspects of social therapy, family systems, and psychosocial interventions to support children and families effectively. The program covers theoretical frameworks, communication methods, and practical applications in social work.
The program is organized over four semesters, integrating lecture-based learning with hands-on practical exercises and a master's thesis. It includes modules on psychosocial diagnostics, intervention planning, and specific approaches to social work with families.
Graduates will gain specialized competencies in social-therapeutic interventions, assessment of family dynamics, and the development of professional communication skills. They will become adept at applying psychosocial diagnostic tools and engaging with families in challenging situations.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
