This program addresses the rising concern for food quality and sustainable production practices. It combines knowledge from leading European universities to prepare graduates for careers focused on organic agriculture and food systems.
The Master's program in Organic Agricultural Systems and Agroecology covers topics such as organic crop production, agroecology, and the integration of economic, ecological, and social factors in sustainable land-use systems. Students explore the holistic approach of Organic Farming, addressing the needs of farmers, consumers, and the organic market.
The program spans over four semesters, with students choosing between two specializations: AgrEco-Organic or EUR-Organic. EUR-Organic students spend two semesters at a partner university, ensuring a comprehensive international perspective on organic agriculture.
Graduates will gain competencies in organic agriculture that include knowledge of sustainable practices, food production chains, agrarian policy, and market development. They will also acquire skills in research, project management, and inter- and transdisciplinary approaches.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
After admission: proof of sufficient funds, health insurance and the student residence permit are part of the visa process — not university admission. We cover those in the guides.
