Master of Science (MSc)
The Master's programme in Climate Change and Societal Transformation offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding and addressing the global climate crisis. Students will explore the scientific, social, and political dimensions of climate change, learning how to develop transformative solutions for a sustainable and just society. The curriculum includes both compulsory and elective modules, allowing for specialization in key areas of climate dynamics, social ecology, and transformative development. Graduates will be equipped to engage in teaching, research, and the development of climate change strategies in various professional sectors.
Students study climate dynamics, socio-ecological interactions, and transformative solutions for sustainability. The focus is on understanding the interconnectedness of climate issues with socio-economic factors and developing actionable strategies.
The program consists of an onboarding phase for foundational knowledge, a specialization phase with advanced theoretical and methodological training, an integrative closing phase for collaborative projects, and a thesis phase dedicated to research.
Graduates gain competencies in interdisciplinary climate science, develop critical assessment skills for sustainability strategies, and become adept at conducting research and engaging with communities for climate action.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
