Master of Arts (MA)
The Master's program in Art and Cultural Studies focuses on the critical examination of art as a social practice and examines the cultural, historical, and theoretical contexts in which it is embedded. Students engage with both theoretical frameworks and practical aspects, preparing them for diverse careers in cultural institutions, academia, or independent research. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches and encourages collaboration across various fields.
Students study a range of topics including cultural theory, art history, and philosophy. The curriculum is designed to combine theoretical knowledge with artistic practices, emphasizing a socially-involved understanding of art and culture.
The program is organized into four semesters, with each semester focusing on project-based seminars and colloquia. Students also undertake a thesis project and may engage in internships.
Graduates will develop critical thinking skills, interdisciplinary approaches, and an understanding of the cultural and artistic practices in various socio-political contexts. They will be equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
