The microcredential course for animal welfare inspectors focuses on animal welfare legislation, animal husbandry practices, and ethical treatment of animals. It covers both the legal framework and practical aspects of animal welfare inspections, ensuring participants understand both theory and practice in this field.
This part-time course is organized in a blended learning format, combining online and in-person lectures and exercises. It is divided into two modules over the course of one semester, culminating in a final exam.
Graduates will gain comprehensive knowledge and competencies in animal welfare legislation, inspection procedures, and conflict management. They will be equipped to perform official duties related to animal welfare with a high level of professionalism.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
