EBVS-certified European Veterinary Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia
The ECVAA Residency program is designed for postgraduate veterinarians aiming to become certified specialists in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia. This comprehensive training includes both theoretical and practical experiences across various veterinary disciplines, ensuring holistic development in the field. Trainees will also engage in research and must publish peer-reviewed articles to demonstrate their competency.
The study covers advanced techniques in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia, emphasizing patient care during surgical and non-surgical procedures. Topics include pain management, anesthesia in special populations, and the latest research in veterinary anesthesiology.
The residency is structured over four years of full-time training, comprising multiple phases including case management, supervised practice, and research development. Trainees submit case logs, case reports, and undertake a comprehensive examination.
Graduates will acquire advanced competencies in anesthesia, critical care, and patient management for a range of species. The program also hones research skills and encourages ongoing professional development.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
