Das Masterstudium Lehramt Sekundarstufe (Allgemeinbildung) vertieft die fachdidaktischen Inhalte und bereitet auf den Berufsalltag als Lehrer*in für die 5. bis 13. Schulstufe vor. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem Sammeln und Reflektieren unterrichtspraktischer Erfahrungen. Es wird eine Verbindung von pedagogischen, kunstpraktischen und wissenschaftlichen Ansätzen gefördert, um eine eigene künstlerische Praxis zu entwickeln.
In the Master program for Teaching Art and Design, students deepen their knowledge in subject didactics, art practice, and scientific foundations. The curriculum emphasizes collecting and reflecting on teaching practice experiences, as well as developing individual artistic practices and exploring creative approaches to art and media.
The program is structured over four semesters and includes mandatory practical teaching phases and courses in educational sciences. Students must select two teaching subjects or one subject combined with a specialization, ensuring consistency with their Bachelor studies.
Graduates acquire competencies in educational theory and practice, alongside artistic skills essential for effective teaching at secondary levels. They develop the ability to critically reflect on their artistic work and teach complex concepts in visual arts and design.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
