Das Bachelorstudium Lehramt im Unterrichtsfach Musik vermittelt die fachwissenschaftliche und fachdidaktische Grundausbildung für die Lehrtätigkeit in der Sekundarstufe. Es umfasst nicht nur musikalische Kenntnisse, sondern auch pädagogische und bildungswissenschaftliche Aspekte. Absolvent*innen sind berechtigt, ein Masterstudium anzuschließen, das sie auf den Beruf als Lehrer*in vorbereitet. Es werden auch Fähigkeiten zur musikalischen Arbeit mit Kindern und Jugendlichen entwickelt.
The Bachelor program in Music Education focuses on a blend of music theory, practical music skills, and pedagogical approaches. Topics include instrumental and vocal techniques, music didactics, and contemporary music creation, providing a robust framework for students to engage with music as both an artistic and educational medium.
This program is structured over six semesters, combining theoretical coursework with practical musical training. Students select a major instrument or vocal focus and undertake practical teaching placements, culminating in a Bachelor’s thesis that showcases their learning and expertise in music education.
Graduates of this program will gain essential competencies in music pedagogy, music theory, and performance skills across various instruments and vocal techniques. They will also develop critical thinking and the ability to create engaging learning environments tailored to diverse student needs.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
