Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The PhD program TReND focuses on the advanced study of neurodegeneration. It offers a multidisciplinary approach to understanding various neurodegenerative diseases through research projects. Students will have opportunities for substantial clinical exposure and will be involved in both local and international collaborative research efforts, enhancing their skills and employability in the neuroscience field.
The program encompasses the study of neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on their mechanisms and progression through both clinical and laboratory perspectives. Topics include biomarker research and neuroimaging techniques.
The coursework is structured over 4 years, including phases dedicated to clinical research, statistical analysis training, and culminates with a dissertation. Students are also required to participate in international conferences and collaborate with external institutions during their studies.
Graduates will possess advanced knowledge in neurobiology, research methodologies, and clinical practice. They will also develop skills in statistical analysis, project management, and scientific communication.

The level of legalisation your certificates need depends on your country of origin:
Apostille
If your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country is sufficient.
No legalisation
A small number of countries have a bilateral agreement with Austria and need no further legalisation.
Full diplomatic legalisation
For all other countries: the full chain — pre-certification by the issuing country's authorities (e.g. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), then legalisation by the competent Austrian representation (embassy/consulate).
Translations are usually done after legalisation. Check the required order with the issuing authorities and the Austrian representation.
